NEW In 2025, Parks Canada will permit only non-motorized watercraft on Clear Lake and outlying waterbodies.
Clear Lake Invaded with AIS
Zebra Mussels have invaded Clear Lake and are expected to colonize the outflow of Clear Lake eventually. This means that Clear Creek and the Little Saskatchewan River are very likely to become invaded and have been designated as “Restricted Access” by the Province of Manitoba.

Restricted Access
Restricted access signs are placed at access points of invaded water bodies that are not yet designated as AIS Control Zone. The signs are to notify surface water users of this decontamination requirement.

Enforcement officers may issue a ticket with a set fine for an offence that may introduce or spread aquatic invasive species (AIS) in Manitoba. Individuals and corporations can now face set fine for a variety of offences. Set fines range from $174 to $2,542 and are in effect year-round.
